Originally from Belgium, Liesbeth brings more than 15 years of private practice experience to our team at Clifton Hill. Liesbeth graduated with her Masters in Physiotherapy in 2006, following this up with her Post Graduate Certificate in Pelvic floor rehab in 2007 and has worked in this field ever since.

Liesbeth’s professional interests beyond Women’s Health, include spinal injuries, sport injury prevention and strength training for women led to further certifications in Strength and Conditioning training and diverse manual treatment techniques. With her variety of courses undertaken over the years, she holds vast clinical knowledge and experience in all aspects of physiotherapy. Liesbeth is a firm believer in combining education, effective manual therapy and functional exercise as a holistic approach for her patient’s injuries.

Her main interests include women’s health, continence and gynaecological conditions, pre/postnatal physiotherapy, pelvic girdle pain/SIJ during pregnancy, functional training for injury prevention and spinal injuries. Liesbeth strives to understand her clients’ background and presenting conditions and bringing the highest quality of care to her patients, as well as personalising each treatment to suit each patient’s needs.

Jess is a Physiotherapist and Pilates instructor. She graduated with Honours at The University of Melbourne in 2012, and has since completed post graduate qualifications in Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy.

Jess has gained extensive experience working in both the public and private sectors throughout Australia and the U.K. She has recently returned from the U.K. where she was working for the Australia Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI) as a Consultant Physiotherapist, mentoring a team of Women’s Health physiotherapist’s. She also worked for the APPI Education team as a course educator, sharing her knowledge of Pilates to healthcare professionals throughout England and Scotland.

In Australia she has worked in private practice, Pilate’s studios, and in a large community hospital as part of a multi-disciplinary maternity team, both on the ward and in the outpatient department. During this time she won an award for her quality improvement project to reduce wait-times for the Physiotherapy Ante-natal Clinic.

Jess has a special interest in treating women’s health, pelvic and spinal conditions. Her clinical approach combines evidence-based physiotherapy with clinical Pilates, dry needling, education and specific exercise rehabilitation to treat, manage and promote well-being. Amelia, who often goes by Mil, has joined our team as a Clinical Exercise Instructor. She is a fully trained APPI Matwork and Equipment Pilates Instructor, and is in her last semester of her Masters of Clinical Exercise Physiology at ACU. This will make her an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP), which is an allied health practitioner who has university qualifications in delivering effective exercise interventions for people with acute, sub-acute or chronic medical conditions, injuries or disabilities.

Mil began doing Pilates at 15, when she was injured as an elite athlete. Pilates helped her to regain confidence in her body and abilities, and she is passionate about helping others do the same. Her background as an elite athlete sparked her interest in exercise and she went on to complete a Bachelor of Sports and Exercise Science, train as a clinical Pilates instructor, and volunteer as a research assistant at the Baker Institute.

At the Baker Institute, Mil nurtured her passion for helping people use exercise to better manage their chronic conditions. She also hopes to one day be involved in research, to help develop lifestyle and exercise strategies for those with chronic diseases and illnesses.

Lilly graduated with a Doctor of Physiotherapy from the University of Melbourne and has since been working in private practice and sport, including AFL, soccer, and winter sports. She enjoys working with a variety of musculoskeletal conditions but has a particular interest in snow sport based injuries and low back pain, and has developed a pre-snow season screening program that helps identify specific injury risk and prevention.

Lilly also has a special interest in treating pelvic health. In addition to pelvic health treatment at the Mercy Hospital for Women, she has completed qualifications to treat patients with incontinence, pelvic girdle pain, and those in need of perinatal care.

Lilly utilises manual therapy, dry needling, education, exercise, and load management to empower people in their rehabilitation journey. She recognises it’s important that individuals not only understand how to rehab their injury, but also learn how to prevent future flare-ups or consequential injuries.

On the weekends, Lilly loves snowboarding in the winter, hiking in the summer, and spending quality time with her family and friends.

Min graduated from the Master of Physiotherapy from the University of Queensland in 2005. Since then Min has worked in various areas of physiotherapy in both hospital and private practices across Melbourne and the UK.

Her interest in Women’s Health began 10 years ago while working in pre and post-natal care and pelvic floor rehabilitation. Since then she has completed postgraduate studies pertaining to Exercise for Women, Pelvic Health and most recently the Professional Certificate in the Conservative Management of Pelvic Organ Prolapse at the University of SA. Josh is a Physiotherapist with over 15 years experience in private practice. Josh graduated from the University of South Australia with a Master Of Physiotherapy (Graduate Entry) in 2005 after previously completing a Bachelor of Podiatry in 2001.

Josh’s practice has a focus on manual and exercise therapy incorporating holistic care. He places great emphasis on having his clients be an active participant in their therapy to optimise their treatment outcomes.

Billy is an experienced physiotherapist who completed his undergraduate degree at Charles Sturt University in 2013. Since then, he has achieved post-graduate Masters qualifications in Sports Physiotherapy, earning the title of Sports Physiotherapist. As such, he is highly qualified in the diagnosis and treatment of sporting injuries and pain.

Billy has worked extensively in elite and pre-elite Australian Rules Football as well as at grass-roots level, and therefore has a thorough understanding of football and field-sport culture. He has previously been employed as a Physiotherapist for Box Hill Hawks Football Club in the VFL, GWS Giants in the AFL and Hawthorn Football Club in the AFLW. As part of his Masters study he has also spent time with the Melbourne Rebels of the Super Rugby Competition. He is currently the Senior Physiotherapist at North Melbourne Football Club AFLW program where he leads their medical team in the management of elite athlete care.

In addition to working within team-sports, Billy is an experienced private-practice based clinician having worked for many years treating community sports and musculoskeletal patients. Sonja completed her Bachelor of Health Sciences/ Masters of Physiotherapy Practice at La Trobe University and has since worked in private practice. She quickly developed an interest in rehab and exercise, which led her to complete the Rehabilitation Series with Polestar Australia to further her extensive Pilates training as well as ASCA Strength and Conditioning Level 1.

In order to pursue her interest in women’s health, Sonja completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Exercise and Women’s Health at the University of Melbourne where she gained the skills and knowledge to manage conditions affecting women throughout the lifespan. She understands the specific physical needs of women and the impact of exercise during pregnancy, post-partum, menopause and osteopenia/osteoporosis. She strongly believes in the beneficial impact of exercise on a person’s physical and psychological health, and so her ultimate goal is to keep women active and exercising safely (and challengingly!) throughout these different stages in life.

Ramsey Ezzat is a Canadian physiotherapist with 14 years of clinical expertise treating a diverse range of musculoskeletal and orthopaedic conditions. He recently moved from Vancouver to Melbourne with his family and is excited to be part of the team at both Clifton Hill Physiotherapy and Inner North Physiotherapy. Laura completed her Bachelor of Health Sciences and Masters of Physiotherapy at La Trobe University and has a wide variety of skills across numerous clinical settings. Laura started her career working at Epworth HealthCare where she refined her skills in managing orthopaedic and persistent pain patient populations, then transitioned to the public health sector where she worked The Royal Melbourne Hospital in both an inpatient and outpatient musculoskeletal role. Laura has also worked as a physiotherapist in the sporting setting, working across both football and soccer codes. She worked in a private practice in Sydney, before moving back home to Melbourne to further her skills as a women’s health physiotherapist. Chantelle spent several years as a dancer, as well as competing at a National level in Sport Aerobics, and currently performs in Aerial Silks.
